Luke begins with a young woman saying yes and a baby laid in a feeding trough, and ends with two tired travelers at a table, their hearts burning. In between: shepherds in a field, a net about to break, a lost sheep, a lost coin, a father running down the road, a thief who asks to be remembered, and an empty tomb at sunrise.

This book walks through it in forty short poems, in five parts, beginning with ten poems for Christmas. Each poem sits beside a picture and under a single line of Scripture. The pictures stay with the things the story touches—a manger full of straw, a broken loaf, a lamp and a broom—and leave the faces to your imagination.
